YogaKids classes for children are creative and fun, designed to stimulate the powers of imagination, maintain flexibility, and develop conscious breathing. We engage the natural energy and enthusiam of this age group through cooperative games, themed activities, storytelling and music. Classes convey lessons in self expression, body awareness, and social skills by exploring yoga poses, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques.
Linda Adleson, RYT, YKA discovered yoga ten years ago and from that very first class remains passionate and dedicated. She became a Registered Yoga Teacher at Avalon Studio in Palo Alto in 2006 under the mentorship of Samantha Shakti Brown. Continually drawn to teaching children she became certified as a YogaKids Associate and has completed the one year Advanced Training Practicum. This methodology created by Marsha Wenig of YogaKids videos and books blends traditional yoga and its benefits with new theories of multiple learning styles educating the whole child.  Through asana, stories and games the children explore ecology, animals, earth care and life lessons that echo the yogic principles of interdependence, oneness and FUN.  She is continuing to further her yoga therapy training this summer studying with Sonia Sumar the creator and author of Yoga for the Special Child. Linda teaches at several Family Service facilities that provide yoga to children. The benefits of an age appropriate yoga practice are countless. The gifts will last their lifetime.
